From the East Bench to the valley floor — outdoor spaces built to last.
Ogden is our backyard. EC Scaping is based in Hooper, about fifteen minutes west of downtown Ogden, and a significant portion of our project history is in Weber County — in neighborhoods from the East Bench to the valley floor to the bench communities north and south of the city. We know the soil variation in this area better than most contractors will admit matters: the difference between working in the clay-heavy valley floor near the river and working in the rockier, faster-draining bench soils east of Harrison Boulevard is significant, and it changes how we approach base preparation on every job.
The East Bench neighborhoods — the areas along Harrison and up toward the Bonneville Shoreline Trail — tend to feature larger lots, older mature trees, and homeowners who take their outdoor spaces seriously. These aren't cookie-cutter backyard projects. They're usually multi-element jobs that involve terracing, retaining walls, paver or concrete surfaces, and integrated planting that all has to work together visually and functionally. That's the kind of project our crew is built for.
In Ogden's older established neighborhoods closer to downtown and 25th Street, we work on historic properties that require extra care — existing trees with protected root zones, older irrigation systems that need to be worked around, and HOA or historic district considerations in some cases. None of that is a barrier to a great project. It just requires a crew that pays attention to what's already there before swinging any equipment.
Concrete work is particularly in demand across Ogden — driveways, patios, and walkways in both residential and light commercial settings. Ogden's mix of housing stock means we see everything from 1950s ranch homes needing updated driveways to new construction builds that need complete exterior hardscape packages from scratch.
We offer the full range of landscape and hardscape services throughout Ogden — paver patios, retaining walls, concrete driveways and patios, landscape design, xeriscaping, and seasonal snow removal for commercial properties.
Fire pit areas, outdoor living spaces, pool surrounds, and walkways built to outlast concrete in Utah's freeze-thaw climate.

Harrison Boulevard and the streets east of it sit on the ancient Bonneville Shoreline terrace, where soils drain well and excavation is generally consistent. West of there, heading toward the Ogden River corridor, the soil becomes heavier clay with worse drainage — which affects base design for any hardscape. We assess both conditions constantly and adjust accordingly. Ogden's bench grade changes also mean retaining walls are common on properties that transition between multiple elevation levels.
EC Scaping is based in Hooper, Utah — right in the middle of the Weber-Davis County market we serve. We\'re not a Salt Lake City contractor stretching north to fill capacity. Ogden is our territory, and we\'ve built enough projects here to know what works and what doesn\'t in this specific environment.
Over a decade of building in Northern Utah's freeze-thaw climate. We spec base depth, drainage, and materials for where we are, not a generic national standard.
We price jobs accurately the first time. What we quote is what you pay — no low-ball bids followed by change orders that get you where they planned to be all along.
Utah contractor's license, full general liability, and workers' comp on every project. Our credentials are available on request before any contract is signed.
We work throughout Ogden and the surrounding Weber County communities. If you don't see your neighborhood listed, call us — our service area extends throughout the region.
Yes. We work throughout Ogden — East Bench, South Ogden, North Ogden, the historic neighborhoods near downtown, and everything in between. Some older neighborhoods have site access constraints that affect equipment choices, but we account for that in the planning phase.
Paver patios range widely based on size, paver style, and site prep requirements. A straightforward backyard patio on flat ground typically runs less than a hillside patio that requires significant excavation and grading. We provide detailed written estimates after a free site visit — that's the only honest way to give you a real number.
Yes. Clay soil drainage is one of the most common issues on valley floor Ogden properties. We address it through graded surface drainage built into the hardscape, French drain systems in some cases, and proper base preparation that doesn't trap water under your patio or driveway.
Yes. We handle light commercial landscape and hardscape including parking lot borders, CMU planter walls, sidewalk and patio concrete work, and commercial property snow removal. Call us to discuss your commercial project.
A standard residential driveway replacement typically runs two to three days: demo and haul-off on day one, forms and grade on day two, pour on day three. Cure time before vehicle traffic is typically five to seven days. We'll walk you through the full timeline at the estimate.
Yes, where required. Ogden City and Weber County each have permit requirements for certain scope of work — retaining walls above a certain height, drainage modifications, and some structural work. We handle the permit process and schedule inspections as part of the project.

EC Scaping serves Weber, Davis, Morgan, Box Elder, and Summit counties. Explore our other service area pages — every community gets the same crew, the same standards, and the same commitment.
